mind wandering, make unhappy
Mas Yus Health. A new study shows, when one's mind wander or do not focus on the activity, they become no happier than if they pay full attention.
The human mind is uniquely able to wander into a lot of things. Actually, this ability to have positive benefits, such as helped us reflect on what has happened or anticipating what will happen and make plans. According to Matthew Killingstowrth, doctoral candidate in psychology from Harvard University, the ability is given trait in humans as sentient beings.
However, it branched out of mind could backfire, especially when we think of something more than what is being done. The result is show unhappiness.
In a study of 2250 participants, revealed when asked to do 22 activities, such as walking, eating, shopping, working, or watching television, 47 percent of participants said their minds often wander to many things.
But there is one activity that can be done in focus, ie during lovemaking. Only 10 percent of respondents who said they were also thinking about something else while making love.
In general, the majority also responded most to be happy during intercourse, followed by exercise. Meanwhile, activities that often make unhappy is to work, rest, and using computers.
When asked what is often considered, 42 percent said they think things are fun and 26 percent said thinking about unpleasant things.
Killingsworth said, indirectly these results prove that being "here" and "now" is very important for us to be happy.
