Shark fin is prohibited Consumed

According to the National Cancer Institute, only one clinical study of shark cartilage as a way of treating cancer in humans which have been published in leading journals and that too showed that shark cartilage ineffective against cancer.

"We tested a pharmaceutically whether the extract of shark cartilage may also increase the success rate of patients who are still fighting against lung cancer," said Charles Lu, an oncologist from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, who chaired the study in 2010.

At that time, Lu said, he and his colleagues perform additional treatments on patients who received chemotherapy by giving several doses of extract of shark in different amounts to 397 patients. "Unfortunately, we do not see an increase in the chances of success," Lu said, as quoted from Life's Little Mysteries, June 1, 2011.
